![]() HOWEVER, ALL THE MAJOR PAINT GUYS MAKE VERY GOOD STUFF, down to really bad stuff. I have seen a marked improvement in is 100% acrylic resinswater based paints over the last couple decades, especially in the WM enamels. I find them to be at least the equal of any of the competitor products i have used. #Sherwin williams paint colors pro 200 full#In full disclosure, I have been selling Behr paints for the last 11 years and have been using them in and on my house. Ben Moore, even though on the expensive side, at least rates very well with most of its paints, unlike Sherwin Williams, which takes the cake for overpriced paints with lousy ratings by the independents rating companies. Hope this info helps anyone else out there who is looking for info on SW at Lowe's.ĭuring my contracting days, I was a user of Ben Moore paints, mainly because customers wanted to see a name brand. The guys said that the formulations were the same otherwise, sold at Lowe's at a cheaper price. I learned from them that SW Showcase is Duration, and SW Ovation is Super paint, just with new labels. However, before we came to this decision I had spent countless hours researching on the internet and stumbled on which is a paint contractors' forum. The handymen decided they didn't want to mess with it since it would be a spray job (heavily textured walls) and they didn't want to mess up the house with overspray etc. If we live in this house long enough (we have a bad track record of moving every 2 years) I might repaint at a later date. It is neutral enough to go with just about anything. Firstly, we decided not to repaint the walls since most of it was very clean - I can live with the mauve/beige paint, although it would not be my personal choice. We also had a couple of handymen who paint check it out for estimates. We were able to get inside the house this weekend and it is now totally empty. We have not closed on the house and it is hard for me to check anything in person. )įunny how things change in a short period of time - when I first posted this, I was planning on doing the painting myself. I'm old enough to understand what the 'long haul' entails. I use Sherwin Williams because it saves me the most money in materials and labor in the long haul. Now that I'm retired, I take their advice to heart. I've seen their work in action, sold and resold homes and seen a TRUE test over many years. #Sherwin williams paint colors pro 200 professional#The professional painters have correctly instructed me you can often lose more money using a lower quality paint if it does not cover well, does not last long, or isn't resistant to mold and staining. That child's bedroom painted school bus yellow, teen's room painted midnight purple, and the 60's man cave covered with paneling all require different types of paint and often require more than one coat or a primer or even a skim coat. It also depends on the color you are trying to HIDE. Having helped many people prepare their homes for the market, helped commercial owners revamp abused properties, and having worked with several professional painters, everything she indicates is true. I was a realtor before I retired and we also built custom homes for many years. Sawaya's comment and applaud the care she gives customers who don't want to break the bank to paint a room. The niche is Ben Moore's Aura in the color Wenge. The sea of beige on the walls is ProMar 200 too. ![]() Pic is kind of dark, but here are my columns which someday will be sanded baby-butt smooth and painted a satin-y white. Maybe it's that Law of Attraction thing - whatever you resist and give energy to, you attract into your reality whether you want it or not. This is where the universe doled out a double dose of humor - the new house I ended up buying has perfectly gorgeous columns completely effed-up with a bad marble faux finish using ProMar 200 "Eg-Shel" ta boot. So, the chucklehead builder decides to have them faux finished in a "marble" pattern. I love columns, they're my favorite architectural feature. The kicker is there are four large, gorgeous columns in the formal front rooms. Getting one room at a time repainted just did my home office in Farrow & Ball's Blue Ground (love it). I bought a new house about 18 months ago and the entire interior is Promar 200. ![]() I have to agree that 200 has some legs, I just don't like how it looks. ![]()
